North Memorial presents free men's health event Sept. 21 in Maple Grove
Men's Health is a popular annual event sponsored by North Memorial, featuring health screenings, prizes, a light meal and presentations from health care experts on timely topics. The free Men's Health event will be Tuesday, Sept. 21, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Maple Grove Community Center, 12951 Weaver Lake Rd. in Maple Grove.
The health fair runs from 5 to 6:30 p.m. There will be a light meal and program from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
Screenings will include blood pressure and heart/stroke risk assessments. Tables/displays of health information during the health fair will address nutrition, home health, sleep health, heart care, lung cancer and prostate cancer.
Speakers during the event will include: "Advances in Treatment for Localized Prostate Cancer" by Jeffrey Twidwell, "Healthy Heart" by Andrew McGinn, "Fantastic Voyage - The Gutsy Version" by Steven Sanderson, "Male Midlife Issues" by Norman Berlinger, "Diabetes Diagnosis and Treatment" by Wanda Andrews and special guest speaker Dave Mona, WCCO Radio.
Men will also receive a free coupon for a bucket of golf balls at the Rush Creek driving range just for attending. A golf pro will also be on hand to give valuable tips. A prize drawing for a round of golf for four at Rush Creek Golf Club will conclude the evening. People must be present to win.
