Rockford students in grades 7-12 are invited to attend the winter sports meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at the high school.
It is helpful if the student and a parent attend so that all necessary paperwork can be taken care of at the meeting. Coaches will be on hand to meet with the teams and answer questions.
Winter sports are boys and girls basketball, hockey and cheerleading, plus boys wrestling and girls gymnastics.
There is a rotating schedule for Junior High basketball, with the boys starting practice Nov. 3 and girls Jan. 4. All paperwork must be completed before being allowed to practice.
All participants need to have a sports physical on file with the activities office that is no more than three years old.
All paperwork, including the sports physical form, is available online (www.rockford.k12.mn.us), as well as at the high school activities office.
Parents can use the PaySchools online payment processing system option on the website to pay for activity fees. Fees for students in grades 9-12 is $125 per activity and $90 for students in grades 7-9. The family maximum is $400.
Rockford Middle School students are part of the Rockford High School activities program.
All seventh graders participating in sports must turn in a sports physical form before the season begins.
Practice start dates for Junior High teams are Nov. 3 for boys basketball and girls hockey; Nov. 16 for boys hockey and gymnastics; Nov. 23 for Wrestling and Jan. 4 for girls basketball.
