Gwen Briesemeister (left) of Delano Schools is recognized as an "Academic Coach of the Year." The presenter (on the right) is Sandra Cordie of Resource Training Solutions. Briesemeister, Gifted and Talented Coordinator at Delano Public Schools, was recently awarded an Academic Coach of the Year Award given by the Whitney and Elizabeth McMillan (WEM) foundation, benefactors of the foundation. Briesemeister was awarded a check for $10,000 at an awards brunch at the Westin, Galleria in Edina. Awards were given for academic coach, teacher achievement and ethics in education. Briesemeister was notified by letter of her nomination last spring and submitted an essay, resume and letters of recommendation from parents, administrators and colleagues. Delano Public Schools recognizes her efforts and congratulates Briesemeister on her outstanding achievement.
